Information about Naxos

Naxos is the largest and richest island of the Cyclades group covering an area of 428 km2 and a coastline of 148 km. The 7,000 are scattered in the 52 picturesque village settlements of the island with Byzantine Churches and Medieval towers.

Boulders rising up from the deep blue sea, fertile valleys, springs with rushing water, picturesque villages, are just a small part of this special place.

Since the island is located in the centre of the Aegean Sea, it is exposed to humidity, the Meltemi, a north wind blowing  in the Cyclades during the summer months. As with most of the islands in the Cyclades group, Naxos has hot summers and mild winters.
