Information about Lesvos

Lesvos (Mitilini) is the jewel of the North Aegean islands, just 5 kilometres away from the coast of Turkey, between Chios in the north  and Limnos to the south. The third largest of the Greek islands. The island of Lesvos has been virtually unaffected by mass tourism and is perfect for people who want to experience real Greece.

The remains of many historical monuments can still be seen, some have been well-preserved. It is one of the few islands where most of the towns and villages have preserved much of their original architectural heritage intact.

The breathtaking landscape rolls through regions of pine-covered mountains to areas of barren, dramatic volcanic stone. The Gulfs of Yera and Kalloni give the islands its leaf-like appearance and create fertile plains and valleys. There many sheltered, isolated coves dotted along its indented coastline.
