Kefalonia is a cosmopolitan island and a popular resort with tradition
and naturally beautiful sites. The island of Kefalonia belongs to the Ionian
Island group situated in the Ionian Sea between Lefkada and Zakynthos, close to
the western coastline of Central Greece. Kefalonia covers an area of 781 m2
with a coastline of 254 km and has approximately 32,500 inhabitants.
Kefalonia has many verdant mountainous regions with dark fir trees, the
natural caves, impressive sinkholes, carved rocks, slopes, golden and
silver coasts to enchant you.
Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia, was rebuilt after being ruined by
earthquakes in 1953 with respect to its former architecture and now is a very
beautiful town with spacious squares and imposing buildings that follow
tradition.
Around the island of Kefalonia you will come across various interesting
settlements, Poros is a beautiful tourist settlement and the central Port of the
island, Sami is the largest port of the island blessed with amazing
archaeological finds and Fiskardo a much frequented traditional settlement that
reflects the nobility of the old profile of Kefalonia.
