Informatie over Skopelos

Skopelos is an island of the Sporades group, a green mountainous island with interesting archaeological remains. Its architecture is like all the Sporades islands, white houses with tiled roofs, small balconies and flower gardens. The large number of churches, in both the capital and on the rest of the island attest to its architecture.

Skopelos is the second largest island in the Northern Sporades group, the largest is between Skiathos and Alonnissos, covering an area of 96 km2.

The island is very mountainous and is made up of two peaks of unequal size. The mountain folds form many ravines and gorges that become small torrents during the wet season providing a rich greenery that reaches the sea, beautiful coasts with sandy beaches and picturesque gulfs, small islets in its waters.
