Matabeleland North is a province of Zimbabwe with an area of
75,025 km2 and a population of approximately 700,000.
Most of the province has been categorized as being in agro-ecological zone,
has fairly low rainfall of 450-650mm and is subject to periodic droughts and
severe dry spells.
The capital is Bulawayo. The climate is tropical; moderated by altitude and a
rainy season from November to March.
