Hordaland is a county in Norway, bordering Song og Fjordane, Buskerud,
Telemark and Rogaland of about 15,600 km2 and 425,000 inhabitants, situated in
the west between the seven mountains.
A county of islands and sheltered bays, fjords with steep mountain sides,
great waterfalls, mountain plateau and glaciers. The coastal area is
characterised by a magnificent archipelago sheltered from the North Sea suitable
for boating and fishing. The scenery varies from stony heath land to green
farmland and lush forests.
The county capital of Bergen is also the second largest city of Norway.
Bergen is famed for its rainfall and having a Rain Festival once a year with
vending machines for Umbrellas on some streets.
