Information about Tai-pei

Taipei covers a large area in the north of Taiwan. The city is situated in a basin surrounded by spectacular mountains.

Over two hundred years ago, Taipei was a small trading port and became the administrative capital for the island during the Qing Dynasty. In the last few decades the city has seen tremendous growth.

The city come alive after the workday has ended with the department stores, night markets, tea and coffee houses, pubs, clubs and restaurants of all types as well as movies, cultural shows and sports bustling with activity. Taipei is safe at night..

The average temperature is 21o C. The summer season is from May to October and is hot and humid. The winter is short and mild, from December to February.
