The hotel is located by the Kerame Beach of
Evdilos, Ikaria, 1 km from the town center of Evdilos.
Built amphitheatrically, Evdilos is
situated in the northern part of the island, 40 km northwest
of Agios Kirikos. It is a new seaside settlement built after
1830 when piracy was completely stamped out in Ikaria.
Evdilos was a temporary capital before
Agios Kirikos during the second Turkish Occupation 1834-1912.
Its name means visible and freely rendered open horizon. Today
it is the second port and capital of the island, and the center of
northern, central, and western Ikaria.
We
will not tell you about the sea, the beaches and the nature of Ikaria,
these are
already well known. What you might not know is our special way of life,
which is
coloured by our free spirit, culture and quality of life.
Come to
Ikaria and learn what hospitality means. Forget your watch
and follow the
rhythms of the life on the Island. This way of living is the best
antidote to
the stress of town and city life. Enjoy our festivals and become
familiar with
our tradition. Accompany your stay here with local wine and delicacies
of our
local cuisine.
On
Ikaria there are no towns. Ikaria has 60 small villages and
each is different
from all the others.
Evdilos is special because it is
located in the centre of the island and it the perfect spot from which
you can
explore unknown Ikaria.
It
has a beautiful, small traditional harbour with the most amazing local
colour,
where you can find many small tavernas next to the sea, bars and cafes
with a
view of the blue Aegean Sea, shops with all the
traditional products.
