The Sporades Islands are considered as one of the most beautiful
island groups of Greece located to the east of Evia in Aegean Sea. The islands
of Skiathos and Skopelos are the more well-known of the group. All four islands
of the group have a magic of their own: rocky coasts and ribbons of golden
sands, pine - perfumed air, incredible sunsets and uninhibited fun in tavernas
on the waterfront. On these islands a visitor can unwind and enjoy the relaxed
island life-style.
With dense vegetation, mountainous land, beautiful beaches with clear,
turquoise water, charming monasteries, Venetian towers and so much more
attracting the visitor to come again. The islands of Alonissos and Skiros are
more isolated therefore keeping their natural beauty.
The spring months of April and May are fine and warm with temperatures
ranging from 14-25° C. June, July and August are the warmest with temperatures
reaching as high as 35° C. September and October are warm with temperatures up
to 25° C. In summer, the Meltemi northerly wind of the Aegean Sea, give a
briskness and clarity.
